Payments
Your Buyers Pay You Directly. We Never Hold Your Money.
Most fairs in Southeast Asia already run on PayNow, DuitNow, PromptPay and bank transfers. BookASquare keeps that, and takes away the part where you match screenshots to chat messages at midnight.
Card payments go through your own Stripe account.
How It Works
From Transfer To Confirmed, In Four Steps
Step 1
Add Your Payment Details
Add each way buyers can pay you, named however you like, such as PayNow or a bank account, with an optional QR and any instructions.
Step 2
Buyers Transfer
At checkout, buyers see your QR, the exact amount and their order number to use as the reference.
Step 3
They Upload Proof
A screenshot or PDF of the transfer and the transaction reference. Their booking is held for your review.
Step 4
You Verify
Check your bank, record what arrived, and the booking is confirmed. Tickets go to the buyer by email and into their account.
For Buyers
Clear Instructions, Then One Upload
Buyers see your QR code, the amount and their order number in one place. They transfer in their banking app, come back, and upload a screenshot or PDF with the transaction reference.
The booth stays reserved for 20 minutes from checkout, long enough to switch to a banking app, transfer and upload proof. After submitting, their booking is held while you review it. If you prefer, Lock Order At Reservation holds the spot from the moment the buyer chooses to pay by transfer.
For You
Verify Against Your Bank, Not Your Inbox
Every proof lands on its order, with the amount the buyer says they sent, their reference and the file. Check your bank, record what actually arrived, and the order moves on.
Nothing is confirmed on the buyer's word alone. A booking only becomes confirmed after you verify the payment, so a screenshot is a starting point, not proof.
When It's Not Quite Right
Part Payments And Missing Details
Someone sent S$40 instead of S$100? Verify the S$40. The booking stays reserved, and the buyer sees what's still owed. Use Request Information to ask for the rest, or for a clearer screenshot.
Refunds are yours to make, the same way you were paid. Record them on the order, with a reason, so your records stay straight.
Card Payments
Cards Too, Through Your Own Stripe
Connect your own Stripe account in Settings and buyers can pay by card at checkout. The money goes straight into your Stripe account, like everything else. Try it first with Stripe test keys, then switch to your live keys when you are ready to sell.
You can offer cards and manual payments side by side, or list an event without selling here at all and link to your own booking page.
And the platform fee? Since your money never passes through us, we can't take a cut as it goes by. Instead, the fee builds up in a ledger you can see, and you get one invoice every Sunday for the week before. The pricing page has the details.
Questions People Ask
Does The Money Go Through BookASquare?
No. Buyers pay you directly: by card into your own Stripe account, or to the PayNow, DuitNow, PromptPay or bank account you set up. BookASquare never holds your money, so there is no payout to wait for.
Can Buyers Pay By Card?
Yes. Connect your own Stripe account in Settings and buyers can pay by card straight into it. Stripe charges its card fees to your Stripe account; our platform fee is billed separately.
What Does The Buyer Upload?
A screenshot or PDF of their transfer, plus the transaction reference from their banking app. Photos straight from a phone are converted automatically, so buyers don't have to fiddle with file formats.
What If Someone Pays Less Than The Full Amount?
Verify what actually arrived. The order stays reserved and shows the amount still owed, and you can ask the buyer for the rest with Request Information. Once the full amount is in, the booking is confirmed.
How Do Refunds Work?
For card payments, refund from the order and it goes back through your Stripe account. For manual payments, you refund the buyer yourself, the same way they paid you, and record it on the order. The order keeps a record of what was paid and what was refunded.
Is The Platform Fee Taken From Each Payment?
No. Because the money never passes through us, the fee is billed to you separately, once a week, for the previous week's paid sales. The pricing page explains how.
Keep Your Money Moving Straight To You
Set up your PayNow, DuitNow, PromptPay or bank details once. Every booking after that is one upload and one check.
